OK Ebay Guitar Nutz, this is another REAL lawsuit deal. This is a Japanese-made Hohner Jazz Bass copy, absolutely correct copy with upgrades. The neck is fully-bound with block inlays and uses a 6-bolt attachment. The finish is vintage sunburst and is in very good condition with a couple of qualifications: on the lower bout there is legitimate wear aging (not applied relic'ing), there is a small wear spot on the lower horn and a small ding on the upper bout (all shown in pictures). This bass has been fully checked-out, the neck adjusted and the intonation set. It is a real player! I also replaced the ashtray bridge cover and the mid-palm cover from Allparts and they were direct screw-ons, exact Fender copy! The nut could probably stand replacing at some point, as this one has a small chip on the high side by the G string, but it still works well and holds tune. Also, the nut is a very personal thing to some players, some prefer bone others like graphite, so I left it vintage original.
However, once you get past the looks, it still has to play, right? The PUP's in this beauty have been upgraded to Seymour Duncan SJB-1 Vintage PUP's for Jazz Bass. These have Alnico 5 magnets and are wound to exactly duplicate the tones of the 'real' things. The switches and POT's are all full-size, first-rate components with real wiring in the critical circuits. Right now it's strung with a brand new set of Thomastik-Infeld 'Bright Wound' strings that really bring out the tone
