1960’s Kay Bass – Excellent Condition!
This is one cool and very rare short scale bass guitar! It has the Gibson SG/EBO body style with a wild, multi-colored pick guard. I’ve had the neck set up professionally, and it sounds great, plays great, and always gets a lot of attention when I take it to gigs or jams. It is a beautiful cream color and is in near mint condition. There are a few small dings, but nothing major. Great collector’s item!

Information Update
I purchased this bass on e-bay a couple of months ago, and it was sold to me as a Kay bass being from the 1960's. I just received this information from a fellow e-bayer, so please consider this before placing a bid. Thanks!
'This bass is a WMI Kay Company model K1-B, also known as KB-1, 1 pickup, short scale neck, made from 1970-80, when company went bankrupt. There is only ONE book with this info; it is; Guitar Stories, Volume 2; written by Michael Wright, available at most online booksellers. FYI: WMI Kay was started in 1969, this model was added as they expanded, it was made overseas. The neck is 1/4 sawn mahogany, not laminated.
Happy bidding!' Ed
