This is a bad mutha sucka Ken Smith 5 String Bass. I believe the woods are Walnut with Maple in the middle. I enhanced this bass with 2 x EMG - 40P5 pickups. It sounds AWESOME. 'The EMG -40P5 design has two offset coils that result in more low end with brilliant highs. It is intended for 5-string models that have a standard string spacing and uses short, squat coils that have very little resistance and plenty of inductance. Ceramic magnets are used to add clarity. The 40P5 has a natural presence, powerful lows, punchy midrange, and superior definition.'
This bass has been well taken care of. It has been played and has very minor signs of play but no major cosmeitc flaws at all. Maybe a little scratching in the finish here and there but nothing you can see unless you are holding it up to a light and giving it a thorough examination. It looks GREAT and it sounds BETTER.
You can absolutely funk your ass off on this bass and it is damn fine to look at. This instrument is going to make someone very happy. I am letting it go because I have dedicated my time to an acoustic project in which I play guitar and this bass is just sitting in the case and not recieving any love. It needs a happy home with a funky family.
