Own a piece of history! For sale is a 2001 Sadowsky NYC V5. I bought this about a year and a half ago from Nashville session bass player, Kevin “Swine” Grantt. You may have heard the story already, but in case you haven’t…..Kevin had Sadowsky make him a bass. It was stolen a few years after so he had Roger make him another (the one I’m selling). About four years later someone came across the stolen bass and returned it to Kevin. Not needing two of the same bass Kevin sold me this one.
According to Mr. Grantt this particular bass is was used on the first three Brad Paisley records including the number one hit, “I’m Going to Miss Her”. He also said it was used on the last Jewel project and a few Darryl Worley projects. If you’ve ever seen the Darryl Worley video, “Have You Forgotten” this is the bass in that video.
It goes without saying this bass sounds great live and in the studio. It’s by far the most even bass I’ve ever played and sounds just as good passive as it does active. No matter where you are on the neck every note speaks loud and clear. It’s got a chambered Ash body, making it very light and comfortable. It is in great shape with only one very minor ding that won’t show up on camera. The “dirt” on the fretboard is from Kevin, I didn’t want to clean off any of the mojo. The color is a custom color, translucent Carolina Blue as he’s from N.C.
