Martin BC-15E Acoustic Bass Cutaway. My favorite bass for “sittin’ by yourself and getting’ lost”. This instrument just begs to be played. And it plays “like buttah”, as they say. Has a sweet beautiful voice. Not as loud as a Guild, but I think it’s the best acoustic bass tone I’ve ever heard. People have commented to me on how pleasant this bass sounds. Most Martins are respected and well cared for by their owners. This one is no exception. It still looks really about the same as the day it first came home. It’s never had any abuse as it’s only been played sittin’ in my favorite chair. It’s never been out of the house, never had a belt buckle against its back, and has always been stored in its case when not being played. Never been slapped or plucked hard. I’m a gentle player who prefers to use my instrument for producing notes, nothing percussive. No real visible wear. Only difference between this one and one fresh from the factory, is that new ones have a strong fresh lumber smell to them.
