1980's Steinberger XL Bass EMG active p/u Vintage  Rare  Serial Number is 5647. Low serial number this the years they were made the best and most sought after.


Rare and collectable early issue Steinberger bass. Built in the original Steinberger factory in Brooklyn, N.Y. where Ned Steinberger started a revolution in bass design. original emg pickups! XL-2 bass have the faceplates attached with bolts from the back. Many professional bass players contend that these XL-2 basses are the best sounding of all Steinberger basses. For more details, see: steinbergerworld.com. This bass has incredible tone and sustain and is impervious to changes in temperature and humidity. A truly professional bass and a certain collectable.


It has EMG active pick ups using a 9 volt bateery it is missing 1 screw for the battery cover.


I very rarely use this bass it has been sitting in the closet the last 10 years.


I will miss it, but I have not been working and I need the money. Has some extra strings in package and Steinberger gig bag.


The reserve is low.
