This auction is for a ''player's-grade'' vintage Yamaha BB1200 ''neck-through'' fretted bass. Anyone that knows these basses understands how fine they are. Consistent sound, balance and playability...''these basses got it all''! I have been using Yamaha basses since the 1980's,and never owned one that I didn't like. I've collected quite a few along the way,and my closets are ''bursting'',so I am going to offer a few at a time til the hinges can hold the closet doors on! This is a 1980's Yamaha BB1200 fretted bass, translucent red,''neck-through'' design,22 frets,semi-chunky neck, rosewood fretboard, all original parts, including the original bridge, single pickup,(P.bass) setup, with a simple volume and tone knobs. The body may have been lightly oversprayed,(not refinished) at some point,(see pics). There are ''player's'' dings and scratches here and there,(see pictures). The ''E'' tuning peg has a slight bend in it,but does not affect the tuning ability at all. The action is low, with great playability. The pickup is super responsive! As for weight...I don't own a scale, but it probably weighs between 9 and 9 1/2 pounds...not too heavy at all. It comes with a new Fender soft case.''It's alot of bass for the money''! The bass is a ''player's-grade'' piece, and will be priced responsibly! These neck through Yamaha basses are getting scarce,so get this one before it gets away! To be a fine addition to your Yamaha bass/collection/sound arsenal! .PLE

I have a Yamaha BB1200 bass that I bought 30 years ago in 1980. I used it for only a few hours and have had it in storage all this time. I'm selling it if anyone is interested.
