These are known as some of the finest electric basses made in Japan. I am the first owner of this bass, an Aria Pro II SB-1000JT. SB stands for super bass. JT stands for John Taylor, the bass player for Duran Duran. He has used one of these throughout his career, although not exclusively from what I understand. It was made either last year or the year before and is in excellent shape. A few of the pictures show the only damage to it, a scrape along the bottom edge of the fretboard from when my toddler son toppled it from a guitar stand and into a drum set. Oops. These basses sell for aver $1,800.00 new. They're loaded with high-end features like an ebony fretboard, brass nut, and neck-through construction. This bass can be played active (2 9V batteries) or passive. There's a switch to go back and forth. There's an LED that indicates whether the active electronics are engaged, and I believe it blinks when the battery power is low. These basses were designed my Matsumoku, a big name in the guitars that came out of Japan in the late 70's and 80's. The bass comes with the case it was delivered to me in. It's not a super sturdy case, but it gets the job done.
