For sale is a heavily modified Jay Turser JTB-401. I will try to be as accurate as I can with the details of how I have beasted this bass. I first added a thumb rest as the single coil pickup was not easy to brace my thumb on. I then removed thumb rest and pickup and routed the cavity for a Gotoh mudbucker which I dropped into the neck position. I was not real careful of the route as I knew the cover would hide it. A very small part of the route is visible on the bottom of the cover. It is hard to see even from close distance, and I have tried to show it in the pics. I then routed a hole for the single coil in the bridge position. I was not careful about this route either as I would be covering it with a bridge cover. I wired both pickups together as the mudbucker was way to bassy by itself. The pickups run together and sound pretty good - have a very Gibson-y sound. The electronics are fine - I have had no issues with it cutting out. There is a nickel-sized scratch in the finish under the bridge cover and the finish is cracked on the bottom side from when it fell off a chair - neither of these is visible from head on. This bass plays well and holds tune. New Fender strings are on it and it sounds nice. The action is medium low. This is a good bass for hanging around the house or jamming - a beater, but solid! I have played out with it and had no problems. Comes with a cool metal Grateful Dead sticker. No bag or case but will be well packed. For sale AS IS. No refunds offered. Happy bidding!
