I've had this bass since 1976, and I don't know what brand it is. It's a very nice Hoffner/Vox copy that unfortunately sounds just like a Hoffner. It has a 32" scale, and plays very nicely and easily. I've always kept Pressure Wound strings on it, so the frets have stayed in great shape.

I've searched diligently, and can find no trace of a trade mark except two pairs of tiny holes on the headstock and pickguard where badges used to be. The only changes I've made were to replace the missing knobs and paint the pickguard black. It was originally a dark reddish tortoiseshell, which I thought was too busy, and detracted from the looks of the bass. I was going to take it off entirely, but found that there is only one f-hole! It looked really strange that way! I put a ridiculous price on it because I really don't want to sell, but I would like very much to hear from anyone who might be able to shed some light on its origin. I hope I've given enough clues someone will recognize it. More pix on request, and thanks in advance.

I'm pretty sure that's a Kingston. Sorrento is another possibility - it was just a different name badge. Go here and check: http://www.fuenfhunderteins.de/
