This is a very nice 1979 Gibson The Ripper L9-S bass. The serial number is 73449102. It comes with the original Gibson hard shell case. There were just over 2,400 of these made in 1979 in an Ebony color. It does have a few dings but not bad at all for a 30 year old bass. The is a spot on the back of the neck where it meets the body that looks like a check or a crack in the laquer but it is not a crack. It looks the laquer just settled in the grooves of the wood. This is a very solid bass. This is a very good playing and great sounding bass. The four way switch really gives it a wider variety of tone posibilities. The frets and Ebony fretboard are in great shape too. Shipping will be FREE in the lower 48 states. You can email me for a quote if you are outside the USA. As with all of my auctions the item will be insured for the entire purchase price at no extra charge. Free shipping and insurance. What a deal. The following specs I got off the web.
